Done.
The last assignment of my degree is submitted--I'll soon be handed my MA.
Now I bide my time for almost two months (!) while I sit here and read, and write. Sure I'll try to find some employment leads for when I move back home, but this is a rare opportunity I've got here. Faulkner wrote As I Lay Dying in six weeks. Six weeks.
I'm no Faulkner--surely you've noticed. But I've desperately needed some time to work. The voices want out. I need time to become bored enough of my own company to invent some.
Look, I knocked off a passable story in the two weeks between the winter and spring terms. That was under the pressure of a deadline--which I missed anyway, but that's neither here nor there; no, actually, the story's there, and I'm here. Don't try to distract me.
I've had 3.5 hours of sleep so I'm not in great shape. My eyes are sore and my stomach feels like a hangover. But somewhere deeper than my stomach I'm feeling just fab, thanks for asking.
What are you glad to have finished, dear reader?
PS. You may enjoy my new pics--they've already received effusive critical acclaim.

Well, big, huge congrats on getting your assignments done!! Now it's Miller time...
What am I glad to have finished? Well, I was certainly glad when the bathtub got unclogged the other day, but I didn't actually DO that. Nothing ever seems to get "finished" around here. I did some proofreading for the magazine I volunteer with and got that turned in, and I was also glad to get the 3 programs for my website completed. But I know that soon I'll just have to turn around and do it all again with a different batch of papers and different programs. Plus, school for me begins tomorrow, so now I'll NEVER get anything done...
And if Mike's is a kid's drink (hmm, alcohol for kids, I dunno!), then I'm a big ol' kid and not ashamed to admit it. So there.
i'm glad i finished weeding the front garden!
