I'd like to say that little endian machines officially suck. When I do arithmetic, I like my bytes to line up in an order that I can look at in the debugger and figure out the alignment in my head instantly so I don't go insane swapping around all the bytes on paper or in my messy brain. Oh yeah, it's not fun if you're dealing between two machines with different native word sizes either (ie. 64-bit vs. 32-bit words). And x86 deserves a swift kick in the balls.
