You know... co-ops are GOOD people. Be friends with them - they're often nice and give you rides to important concerts of the summer when UTPers won't do it. Mike K. is one truly awesome guy (he'll never read this ever, oh well).

So yeah, Motorhead played first, and they played some stuff off of Ace of Spades from what I remember - 45 minute set. Dio... damn the guy can still belt out those high notes. He kinda choked on one note though, but that was near the end of the set and I'd have been totally beat. Stuff off of everything from Magica to Holy Diver to Dream Evil - ending with the classic "Rainbow in the Dark." Set length - 60 minutes.

Iron Maiden... holy SHIT they had an awesome set. They played stuff off of Danse Macabre and pretty much everything from the old days (like Killers-era material, the Trooper, etc.). I've yet to hear Rime of the Ancient Mariner or Phantom of the Opera live. But hey, Run to the Hills and 2 Minutes to Midnight will do just fine.

Bruce had a spiel about filesharing while they were changing the snare drum. So, Iron Maiden believes exactly what most music lovers believe with regard to file sharing - good musicians will still sell records. Their record sales haven't been stronger, and I've definitely seen their stuff on P2P, bootlegs, etc. He gave his blessing to everyone there to record the whole damn thing. If only everyone else in music were as reasonable as Iron Maiden.

Oh yeah, one thing I noticed was that despite the fact that the Baltimore / D.C. region is pretty much a black community, I only saw a total of FOUR blacks out of several THOUSAND concertgoers.

This is probably the most fun I had this entire summer, which either implies I've had a lousy summer or the concert fucking ruled. I think although I meant the former I do believe in the latter.
