Finally went for a great ride on Sunday
Then my old bike died in a part of Brooklyn I have never been.
Kind of fun to be stuck out there.
Got to meet this old italian guy and hear about his riding experience which started at age 38 when he got a divorce and a new lease on life.
Glad I didnt have to wait for that.
I had some pizza and soaked in this little place that time forgot. Drove my van back out there and loaded it up with the help of a guy who it turns out grew up on the next street over from where I live now.
Amazing how open and helpful New Yorkers can be.
I freakin love living here.
I am REALLY looking forward to getting all the kinks out of this old bike and getting to know all the ins and outs of how she runs so I can just ride. Cant wait to learn more and more about fixing it.
For now it seems like a mirror of my life
breakdowns
complete stop
frustration
impatience
then learning
then repair
then trying
trying again
learning more
sticking with it
then ignition
power
go
then that feeling of wind in my hair
that feeling
of freedon
that feeling like I could go anywhere I want
turn any corner
take any road
finding cemetaries and stores
houses and factories
people and fences
and yes.....
cars and trucks
gotta watch out for them
then
breakdown
again?!?
Ok Again

I hope you have a nice holiday, and maybe spare a turkey?

Inventing/creating one would be nice. Let me know how that works out, since my last invention (costing thousands) ultimately told me to stop deluding myself. Cheeky.

The bike is spotless! Whenever I see rims that clean, I know the owner really cares, and your hard work shows. Very nice. I'm glad you made it to PT to see your family. That's a nice ride from NY to the cape, and I hope you were not too cold.

It was not a good week at work for me. A project that I have been working on for a year has caused many nights with little sleep recently. For thanksgiving, I chose to do nothing except try to refocus. I ate popcorn, played lots of music, and briefly forgot about the world. I'd like that kind of holiday at least once a week, it seems.
