This weekend I'm going to a log cabin in rural Virginia. It is on a horse farm and I think it may snow before I go, so I might get some good sledding action in!

Harry Shearer (Spinal Tap, voice of many characters in Simpsons, including Mr. Burns and Mr. Smithers, among other things) has remarked on the American tradition of placing "le" before nouns to give it a sophisticated feel. If you ask me, using "le" just makes everything sound like Pepe le Pew!

Speaking of Americans...my older cousin Danny shipped out to a tent city in Kuwait this past weekend. He just bought a house and was a fireman in the Reserves. He left the service over 10 years ago. Now he is out potentially fighting a war that I certainly don't believe in. Thanks a lot, Bush. Pretty much right from the time these isolationist/unilateralist idiots took power, relations with agressive nations have soured, across the board. How could we elect these guys? Oh wait, we didn't.

Think about it. NKorea agreed to stop its nuke program. It only starts up again after it is labelled an 'evil' country. Iraq...always a problem, but had been relatively quiet. Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, China, etc etc etc. These countries aren't led by idiots...they all have particular agendas and the administration continues to use outdated models of policy. The same could be said for our fragile environment, which may take decades to recover from this administrations nearly complete rollback of Clinton-era advances. ARgh, I should stop now before I get worked up.
