so Andys dad, being the drunk bastard that he is, gives us $100 and tells us to have a good night. we drive around for half an hour thinking of something... anything to do. We go to Sugars and get play poker for 20 minutes. We've got $80 of it left since we spent twenty on gas.
what can we spend eighty dollars on? i ask
much thought is poured collectivley. we think and think and think. and in thirty minutes we arrive at The Kit Kat Club oh yes oh yes oh yes.
i have about $15 i can spend on the dancers so we take 3 seats at the main stage and spend a dollar a song, two dollars if you're Gabe. This gets mildly repetitive; good for a laugh you know, but not if you're going to spend the next two hours here comepeting dollars with the fat jew across from you that just got his paycheck. At one of the more unattractive dancers I get up and walk around and make a few phone calls. I'm making my way back to the stage when I quite literally bump into most gorgeous dancer - we talk, my names Charly whats yours, i'm up next, its my first time dancing actually, can't wait to see it, i'll see you up there. I take a seat. The ugly girl collects her money and leaves. Up comes Charly.
A little about Charly - first, she's a brunette. And I have a thing for brunettes the same way junkies have a "thing" for crack. Secondly she's got some peircing Bambi eyes. Freakishly large under a pair of well placed incredibly sexy glasses. I've found glasses sexy twice in my 19 years and both were in severely dated, dog-eared comic books. She's wearing an black and white arm warmer thing, obviously from Hot Topic, and a black shirt and a red mini-skirt. On the stage she looks like a great picture of Jennifer Love Hewitt or even better - a stripper version of Ingrid Bergman. She spends most of her time down my end of the stage, her first song is "Making Whoopee" (the Ella Fitzgerald version)and I am enraptured by this. She has a body most women would kill for and a few have. I place down a one, then a little later a two, and then the last $4 I have in my wallet. She takes of her glasses and places them right infront of me and - I dare not say it in a family publication such as this journal - gives me that four dollars worth.
Immediatley after her set is over I go outside and smoke a cigarette. I smoke two. I may have smoked three. I go back inside and take a seat next to the fire. Benni Benassi's "Satisfaction" is playing loudly over the speakers when Justice, another one of the better dancers, comes moseying up. having fun tonight she said very much so i said and we make small talk about the dancers and the music and how funny it is when you sit in a corner and laugh at it all. She doesn't try to solicit a lapdance or whatever. She's not interested. We talk for about twenty god-damn minutes and 3 dancers when Charly comes out and sits across on the other side of the stage. Justice comments, having seen Charlys dance towards me half of the time, on Charly's now quasi famous dance to me. I tell Justice about my little crush on this Charly girl and she calls her over. I'll leave you two alone she says and walks off, back to the dressing room.
Me and Charly talk for ten fifteen minutes about LA, Chicago, acting, music, bands, strippers, singing, all sorts. She's 19 and is moving down to LA in the New Year, I don't know when she says, I just have to go down there. I tell her she's the absolute most gorgeous dancer I've seen... the 3 or 4 times that I've been to strip clubs I've never actually been turned on by a dancer. She looks genuinley flattered. They call her name out over the loudspeakers shes on deck can I talk to you more after my dance she says I really want to I have to fucking be up in a minute stay right there.
I smoke another outside and go back in to watch her on the second stage and midway through the song she notices me and lets out a cheshire cat grin, making the 40 year old mexican guy with a fistful of fives and the underage fifteen year old in the trucker hat very jealous. Long story short I catch up with her at the bar a bit later. She tells me her real name (i will with-hold it from here) and I give her my number and old her to definatley keep in contact. We watch Justice perform her cabaret / hardcore stripping routine and I hold her hand goodbye and Gabe and Andy are ready to leave and I head out the door. We smoke more cigarettes they ask why the Cheshire Cat grin? and I regail them with the story I just told you. I light up a second one and Charly comes out in low rising cargo pants and a 'everybody loves an irish girl' shirt. I was just about to call you she said but you're here now so it looks like I don't have to tonight. Justice follows immediatley after that and we all talk about Swingers and The Strokes and Andy's hat and the White Stripes and being 'so money'. Justice wishes me a safe trip back to Chicago and Gabe and Andy head back to the car and me and Charly are left outside. Call me i say i will she says and gives me a hug and promises of a later date.
