Sitting here, I'm watching the victims of Katrina, and I'm just fascinated with how (and why) New Orleans will be restored.

At this point, with the city empty, isn't it a good time to ask whetherrestoring New Orleas is a good idea?

I mean, having a city below sea level next to three big bodies of water is sort of scary.

Perhaps spending five billion to simply butress the levees isn't a good idea when it's going to cost another five to rebuild.

I've given some money to the Red Cross, and I'm just hoping that the rescuers can get everyone out, because there are still lots of older and poor families living in New Orleans.

Go see Noir, who's offered to get naked to raise money for the victims.

Speaking of Noir, I'm feeling a case of ennui too.
