It seems like there is death all around me lately. I buried a friend yesterday, then went to a beside vigil for my wifes grandmother and I'm expecting a call any minute from my mother about her husband dying. whew.
In autumn, one leaf falls, then another, then all the beautiful flowers die until we are surrounded by bare naked plants. We do not feel so joyful. Why is this? Because deep down, we desire constructive, fruitful growth and dislike things collapsing, dying, or being destroyed

Aw man, that friggin sucks. Sorry to hear about all this.
Hopefully there's something decent going on as well, but if not there will be eventually I'm sure. I'm sure you don't need me to say it, but being a comforting husband & son is worth an awful lot, just do what you can for 'em. I like that quote a whole bunch, very true indeed. I do believe that all in all the good & constructive outweigh the bad & destructive, which is a very handy thing to believe true or not.
