OK I figured out what is more pathetic than organizing a charity Scrabble tournament at work. That thing is memorizing 200 extra words to give you a fighting chance to stay in said tournament. (I scored 300 in my first game which was good enough to get me to Round II and in 5th place of 28 people. But the frontrunner scored a whopping 572 points, and I was drawn to play him next. So I made a list of useful words to commit to memory to help my chances.)
IMPORTANT TIP FOR SCRABBLE PLAYERS: The Hebrew alphabet is your friend: FE, PE, PEH, FEH, YOD, VAV, VAW, VAU, WAW, YOD, ALEF, etc.)
I just re-read Oblivion by David Foster Wallace and I suspect it may be the best book ever. It is nice to see that he has written another book as strong as Infinite Jest.
