I got a new CD- walkperson on the weekend, because my old one mysteriously died. It was very inexpensive and plays OK, but has no MP3 capability. The volume knob also turns towards, rather then away from, the front, unlike every other piece of sound equipment I've ever owned. It's seriously fucking with my worldview. In it, I placed my new Kate Bush CDs, having just replaced my cassettes. Kate Bush rules.
And what has happened to the O. Henry Prize Stories? (see last entry). The 2003s were out this time last year, and I found a listing for 2005. But no 2004! What is transpiring? The internet has been surprisingly unhelpful. What am I gonna read? Best American Short Fiction?

In that last pic, BHL is wearing a Minnesota Wild hockey jersey. It was in the 60's (sorry, my metric conversion abilities evade me today) that day. There's always a stiff wind blowing off Lake Superior.
