At the behest of some friends last night I used their spare ticket to see Imogen Heap. I had only heard a few songs of hers on my friends car stereo before, but she was amazing live, in fact much better than on her CD. I'm now upset that she had to cancel as the opening act for a Tori show that I saw quite a while back now. This song blew the entire club away. And she did a Leonard Cohen song so she has cred despite her more top -40ish tracks. It did not hurt that she is a total cutie, has crazy hair and is all British and stuff (hey, like Dylan!)

One of these days, you'll miss your train
and come stay with me
(It's always say goodnight and go)
We'll have drinks and talk about things,
any excuse to stay awake with you
You'll sleep here, i'll sleep there,
but then the heating may be down again
(at my convenience)
we'd be good, we'd be great together.

Monday Update: Transit strike! Looks like there's no work for dholokhov today, as I work on the very edge of town but live in the exact centre. I will have to get my bike fixed to get there tommorow unless they are ordered back to work. Ah well, it's 30 degrees out. suck on it work, I am going to go get a popsicle.

Although this really sucks for my co-worker who drives, and was participating in goth day (see last entry).

further edit:
oh neat! the show is already on youtube! That may actually be my head lower left. listen to her hit those notes at the end of the bridge.

You should have seen/heard the life I was living in Athens, then you would understand, in the words of Depeche Mode "enjoy the silence." oink
