I tell you hospitals can be a fucked up place after normal business hours.
First there was the security check point and the metal detector. People what does the metal detetector detect? That's right it detects METAL!!!! Dumbass!! Are keys and coins made out of metal? YEAH THEY ARE PEOPLE!! Take the shit out of your pockets before you go through the metal detector.
Also just as general information, the foil used for chewing gum wrappers and in the linning of cigarette packs is enough to set off a metal detector. I learned that little piece of information about 2 years ago. Who would have thought that thin floppy piece of foil was getting to set off a metal detector?
So after the metal detector is cleared the guard asks you why you are there. In my case it was to visit my mom, she had surgery today. Nothing really serious but it was a needed thing. Then they verify with the hospital computer that the person you are visiting is really registered there and verify the room number. Then I received a Visitor pass with my destination writen in permanent marker on this stick on tag. So now all the crazies know where to find me. All they have to do is read my chest.
Later on I am eating something in the cafeteria because I missed dinner. Now if I eat this in my mom's room she would have hated me because she hadn't eaten all day and was still on a liquid diet. So imagine her hostility while I chow down on my Taco Supremes and she just gets to salivate.
The people in this cafeteria late at night I tell you it was downright frightening. The sad part was that most of them were employees. I tell you the night shift is always a little different from the day shift if you know what I mean.
The whole experience was very surreal. I also am really having a problem dealing with people. I hid from most of the world today and when I had to go out I grumbled and cursed about it the whole time. As well as being a total bitch. They only thing cool was spending time with my mom and I had to make myself go do that. Which was part of the reason that I was so late in getting there in the first place. Sometimes depression is such a bitch. OK most of the time. Blah Blah Blah....
On a happier note...
I am now obsessed with Xanga. I don't know why I like it so much?
Come on baby. Xanga me!!!
