tonight was our first evening participating in San Francisco's Dine About Town event, where the biggest pain in the ass customers come out in force. The restaurant chooses certain menu items to be showcased and offered in a three course prix fixe selection for about $35, a great deal. Though our restaurant is usually consistently busy, the event provides the opportunity for everybody in town to generate some business during the slowest part of the year.

I, for one, think it's a pain in the ass. Lucky for me, there's only one set coming off of my station on the event menu so I'm in a pretty easy spot.

In other news, I'm continuing my autobiographical archiving. The first part of my life I've decided to write about is my history in love and sex. A cross between a conventional black book and Nick Hornby's Hi Fidelity. It reads like a coming of age novel mixed with a collection of really nasty sex stories, courtesy of my twisted libido. Ha. I'm at about 19,000 words already, well on my way towards making a novel (at least in publisher's terms) out of this one.

I just hit the part of my life where I got mixed up with love interests in the workplace, at a restaurant called Cortez. All of this occurred in 2007 so the memory is still somewhat fresh in my mind (at least compared to those of my adolescence); so it would seem easier to document, but at the same time it's somewhat painful to remember all of this in detail, and a little bit mortifying to try and be as honest as possible about all of it. Still, it is all towards the greater purpose of solidarity and eventual change. Growth.

After I finish the memoir of my love life thus far, I will probably start a similar account of my hobbies, passions, interests, and personality; and eventually find a way to mash the two together into some sort of autobiography, for my eyes only.

And maybe, from that, I can forge a collection of David Sedaris- esque short stories about growing up in my ridiculous family.
