Sleater-Kinney rocked the 9:30 Club last night. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, the show was cancelled 10 minutes before they were to play due to overheating, etc. (here's a link as to the reasoning behind it all) http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/news/SleaterKinney_Too_Hot_for_D_C_#37695
This being one of their last show may have something to do with how intense and amazing their set was, but honestly...Sleater-Kinney is, by far, the BEST all girl band EVER. It saddens me to think this may be the last time I see them LIVE. Literally one of the best shows I've ever seen and trust me, I've seen many a LIVE show in my days. From the opening chord to the end of the 2nd encore, yes...2nd encore, it was absolutely AWESOME. Songs ranging from "the Woods" to "Dig Me Out", they played everything I wanted to hear. The Club was jam packed, people were dancing and shaking their asses and the sweat was flying. It was a great time had by all.
One can only hope, over time, that Corin, Carrie and Janet play together again. Thanks to them for rescheduling the show on such short notice and giving every Sleater-Kinney fan at the show one last night of Riot Girl music and a chance to say, "Thank you and Goodbye".
