You're right, bigger shows are fewer. I keep seeing bands play at Marquee, which is very small in comparison to Cricket Pavilion. More shows are going to Mesa Ampitheatre, America West Arena, & Peoria Sports Complex.
One more of the local digs for smaller shows apparently shut down today. The Old Brickhouse. I've never been there, but there was a show coming up next week I'd intended on seeing...
