Thank you @alexislust for nominating me to partake. I shall!

As part of @fredhincanada Lord of the Nerds content gauntlet, the first of these is my favorite song of all time. My problem is, there are two I can't choose between so you get both!

1. Imaginaerum by Nightwish.

A poem and story of a song that is also the album and a movie! Nightwish always does one epic song per album and this was one of their best at over 14 minutes for the song. Everything is about imagination and the beauty plus horrors from it. The movie gives a magnificent perspective to the song & album by showing a life of imagination mixed with memories in a dying man while the real world and his family circle around him with their memories. It is gorgeous showing how forgiveness and imagination are powerful in the world. See the movie if you can and listen to the album.

2. Meteor by TM Revolution (featured in Gundam SEED).

This song first came to me when watching Gundam SEED as a teenager. Then as a 20 something I wanted to be able to watch again and got the DVD set. Got me through many rough times, and I still love it for racing games and other fitting circumstances. Why? The song first played after revealing this new Gundam after the old had been destroyed in a vicious fight between childhood friends where they nearly killed each other. Times were looking bleak for many reasons but now this new beauty had been revealed, and it's name was Freedom Gundam. And first use was saving the main ship and a bunch of series characters, plus general badass owning of the battle. Second time they played the song was when the childhood friends met again in the middle of another battle, the other guy in another new Gundam named Justice. And this time they fought together instead of against.

The beat, the inspiration, the images all come together to bring me to tears almost every time.

Also what I found so inspiring is that despite the Freedom being a overpowered war machine that could easily kill, the pilot chooses to make only non-leathal attacks unless forced otherwise. Choice is so important.

I tag the following to join in: @jullie @shenzy @lunaraise @drew @cabani @jhosi @niffler @biatrois @biawhite @skygraves @laceybloom @teehohodka @vitadeam @fresa @samihain @ginary @demi @ayuu @knives @nursemila @lali @maud
