Okay, so Moirae and I are going to this totally swank Absinthe party in SF on Friday. I think I'm going to reserve us a hotel room. It's time to pull out the cocktail dress, and the nice heels. Man...I haven't read any of the Vertigo books in years and years. It makes me sad, because I feel like I've completely lost the side of myself. I used to be so wrapped up in comics. I moved away from home and now I miss them. I wish I could just pick up all those books you mentioned but I don't have them anymore. I'm sure that they've been long ago taken away with other garbage, which makes me quite sad.

It made me think of a scene from Angel: everyone in and around LA has been brainwashed into shiny happy people by this Uber-Goddess/Demoness going by the name Jasmine, while only our heroes have found a way to escape her spell. They encounter this paranoid bookstore guy and ask him if he had stopped believing in his plethora of conspiracy theories. His answer: "No, I still believe all that. It just doesn't bother me anymore."
