"The fun part about primitive crafts is they're so easy to make while you watch TV," Mona says. "And they put you in touch with all sorts of ancient energies and stuff."

Natch. biggrin

hmm school and stuff. hm ok i guess you are off the hook. Some other time though.
ananael:
You sure it's the primitive crafts putting you in touch with ancient energies, and not just the umpteenth hitler special on the History channel?

Demoivre is currently avoiding a painful work/energy/field problem because it has too gaddamned many Force vectors--which means too many freaking gradients with too many bloody partial's--and is hoping that surfing the porn will somehow present him with an easier way of solving the beast.

Demoivre has also begun talking about himself in the third person because, well, he is an idiot and just realized he...

You should come over this friday eve. It's the 13th and also my Boy's B-day party. Much merriment and debauchery to ensue. Dress like 'bad luck'. (this is open to interpretation)

"But the universe carried not answers, but questions. As the alien deep beneath the surface of Z'ha'dum had said, it was simply seeking understanding, as was he.

Who? What? Why?

He had found the beginning of those answers to those questions as they related to himself. But a whole universe awaited. He turned his mind toward it. He wanted to see it, to feel it....

I am very glad you enjoyed your monument kisses ... pass it on to your friends .... the idea of a variable speed of light is intriguing ... if you have a url of a website/article about this (hopefully in layman's language) please send it to my comments page ... ecq

Conversation I had yesterday with my lab partner:

Him: Well I'm off to Engineering Club.

Me: Ah, gonna build some bridges?*

Him: Yeah, last year we had this great bridge. The idea was to build a bridge that would collapse at a preset point.

Me: Stress testing?

Him: Yeah. Ours, of course, broke somewhere else.

Me: Was this for Statics?

Him: No, this was the...

Well, well...a new semester. You all know what that means....

Right, less time on the Site and more time integrating electric fields across gaussian surfaces.

Or something like that. I am bummed about being away from the Site, but so ecstastic about field equations that I bought a huge dry-erase board to hang on the wall to do said equations.

Ah, the dualities of Life....

Dude, a white board! thats awesome. When I own a house its gotta have 5 things: a pool table, beer and soda on tap, a saltwater fishtank in a wall, a giant bathtub and a blackboard. I love doing calculations on my walls with colored chalk...my roomate unfortunately doesn't appreciate it.

Maybe we can make a tradition of meeting in the coffee shop on campus on Fridays, o great and busy one? smile

Funny...after all this time, I finally just came to the realization that zazen practice is merely about sitting with nothing but yourself for company, which forces you to deal with yourself. The practice part comes in with having to learn to force yourself to sit there for longer periods of time, with nothing to distract you from you.

Whoa.

A good point. Maybe indeed thats what makes it scary. Me, Im usually too impatient with myself- hence I dont sit in zazen often at all. The couple of times that I actually made it past the "gawd I cant bloody concentrate" state were amazing though. But usually I find that the form of meditation that suits me best is a physical one- the budo arts work very well.

Thanks man! I realy like it too... i guess that is a good think as it's kinda there to stay... wink

Dammit. The Intro To Topology book I checked out of the library has vanished and it's due tomorrow! Grrr.

I remember bringing it into the house and putting it on the coffee table, but then my roommate cleaned and now...nada.

I'm left with the theory that the book, B(T), which is obviously contained in the set of all literature, A(L), met an open...

Hmm...Point particles can be tricky to find. My advice: Solve the time-dependent wave equation and this should at least give you a narrowed down field of probable location. That is, unless your subset isn't in Hilbert space. Then you're still screwed.

Aww...the Feynman Lectures On Physics boxed set arrived yesterday! I am a very happy nerd!!!!

Alas, however, I am going to rant:

*ahem*

The singular problem with studying physics, to me, is the fact that each time you learn a new concept, you get used to it, work with it, try desperately not to fail a final with it, and then they go and change...

Whew. Spent the last week with my parents visiting--seperately, since they don't get along--and this is the first real chance I've had to log on to the Site. Of course, logging on to find a new Pihka set made it worth it, but...whew. wink

In other news, I've gotten wind of a paid internship at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Just the thought of something like that...

Just a quick note to get you in my comment sections, so I have a link to come read you again. Also a Physics major here in NYC but heading towards the HS teaching thing, not the explore the universe thing! Thanks for the heads up re Solstice.

So do you think light is really the vibration of another dimension, sort of the shaking of the actual true ether (space time stuff) or maybe another real dimension that transmits waves like water transmits the surf, or what?! I just cannot figure out how there is a electric field, and a magnetic field, but that they exist without any moving mass to generate them! Yet they are bent by gravity so there must be some mass, or does there? Arrgh, taking modern physics for the first time next semester, lots more fun the analyzing financial statistics!
ananael:
Squishy? Is that healthy? I don't think I've ever felt squishy, but if I did, I would probably see someone about it! Parents can in fact be cured with sufficent application of vodka, but squishy?...

The new Pihka set on the other hand, that I get completely! love

PS - If you've still got this squishy thing by this weekend, I ain't comin' over, 'cause I don't want that to catch that! surreal
