Work. It's alllll I seem to be doing lately. An alarming fact that was pointed out by a friend during the week. Excluding last weekend, which was pure accident, I haven't been out on the town for 6 months. I haven't even been with anyone in over a year.
The idea of a social life has completely slipped my mind and fallen to the bottom of my priorities list. This wasn't intentional, I'm not even sure how it happened. I reckon it might be the reason I've been so perma-pissed at everything and get moody when I'm confronted with a load of couples. Problem is, there's shag all I can do about it. Having moved home for a new job in January after 4 years of living on the other side of the country doing my own thing, in my own place, the adjustment hasn't gone too well. I know noone in this town and what few friends I have on this side of the country at all are moving abroad over the next 4 or 5 months.
It's only now that I realised how bloody impossible it is to actually go out in this country if you don't already know a bunch of people. You have to be in with a group or be the strange stalker/loner type guy who sits at the bar alone on a Saturday night.
Three years left on my contract on my job. If this continues, and I don't go insane from boredom/solitude first, I might leave the country when I'm done. I don't think there's much left for me here.
