Ok, here we go... I don't see myself having too much time for this journal crap, but either way, I'll try to play along.
I should actually be working now, as I have a deadline to meet today, AND another one tomorrow... But. I am feeling really uninspired, and along with that, I am experiencing a serious lack of focus.
Blah.
I wish I could just kick back, read a book, while sipping on a peppermint tea... Sound lame? Maybe. But it sure works for me!
Ok, I guess I really should try to focus now...
And I guess this is supposed to be some sort of an introduction...? Ahem. Here we go:
You can call me Dee. I like to make up cheesy names for myself, such as DeeZaster or DeeMise... (Feel free to write with any suggestions). I am a mother of one, and a part-time step-mother of two, so my days pretty much revolve around family shit.
I am a Graphic Designer/Web/Multimedia Developer by trade, and unlike most people I know - I actually like what I do. This is good.
Now as for the bad part... It has been almost 3 years since I've played music, which is killing me, since I spent 10 years before that doing exactly that. So, my New Years resolution (well, one of them) is to make more time for myself, get my ass in gear, so I can start playing again, and regain my sanity.
I already got my guitar set up, turn-keys replaced (my kid broke them, just like everything else), I bought a new midi/audio interface for my computer so I can record the songs I write, properly, AND I'm getting a new microphone next week, so I will have absolutely NO MORE EXCUSES. (One of my excuses was that I gave away all the recording equipment I had to my hip-hop prodigy cousin, after I had my son. Booyaa.)
Speaking of New Year's resolutions, here are a couple more:
- Stop eating junk; focus on controling chocolate addiction
- Have more sex; my spouse is a horndog, and I'm turning into a frigid housewife - what happened??
- Stop taking shit so seriously; this is a tough one
- Be nicer to my cats; I've been completely ignoring them for the last 2.5 years...
Ok, and with that, I leave you, since it is 11 AM and I am missing my deadline...
I thought I'd write 2 lines, and here I end up with a freaking novel! Perhaps this journal business isn't all that bad
I'll work on updating my profile gradually, so check back often! (ha! like you give a shit...)
