It has been tough trying to stir up members for the communism group. After two days, we have twelve members and I have made a couple of frenemies. That's okay, but what I was surprised about was how spurious one's comments were, filled with lots of anger and generalizations about me, and the other one just seemed really bitter.
That's okay, though. It takes all sorts.
I won't give up on the group though, but I think the agitation phase of the communist group is over for now.
C'est la vie.
Anyhow, I'm currently reading about the Law; constitutions, legislations, courts, evidence, facts, and jurisdiction. I can't believe that all of this is due by Monday, but I can handle it. I will stay on top of it all.
The people in my group seem like they are going to work out fine, except for one girl. She came with her boyfriend who seemed pretty positive, but all that she was doing was complaining the ENTIRE time. It was sucky, especially because I was watching this guy take a lot of nonsensical BS and really handling okay for the most part. I hope that she isn't like that all of the time.
OKAY! Now that all of that's done!
Thanks for commenting in my journal! I'm only responding to the cool stuff I see you guys and gals offering anyhow, but I do appreciate it.
OH! I once again got dropped off in the ghetto. I swear I am going to get killed. Today, on the bus, this guy started talking to me, saying he's a finance manager or something for Bank of America. Un Likely, but whatever. It helped the ride go quickly. THEN he wants to stop with me to go get a drink- Immediate red flag for me.
I said no and hopped, but I have to stop talking to strangers on the bus.
Actually, I haven't had one drink since I've arrived in NY, which has been great. And I haven't smoked. The drinking is really out of respect for my roommate and to focus on studies, but that's no hard&fast rule. The smoking is something I've avoided for a while, although I did smoke one cigarette with Rani before I left, just because it was so intimate and unexpected for us both.
I haven't smoked in forever before or after that, although I had for eight years or so.
I am really excited about the school, though.
I also need to look into loans etc. asap. I gotta find out about where the extra jack is!
Goodnight out there, space fans, wherever you are,
Ian
