King for a day:
I ate like a pig today. I had India Palace's all you can eat buffet with my good friend Pat and hs family, which was really nice. Then I went to the graduation ceremony.
At the graduation ceremony, we all form lines based on the schools we're in, I'm in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and walk through the Campanille and down a sidewalk into the stadium for tedium.
Anyhow, Pat and I shared a bottle of champagne on the walk, and then -after we went through the Campanille- RAN LIKE CRAZY -passing students, jumping over camera-wielding parents on their knees, etc. I ended up next to two friends, Alisha and Brady, who gave me the biggest hug I"ve received to date. I love that guy.
After that, I saw my family, so Pat and I snuck under the roped-off corral they were herding the gaduates into the stadium with, took pictures with the fam, and went downtown to get drinks and play pinball- Fuck 45 minutes of boring speeches in sweltering heat, you know?
After that, we went to the real graduation party
Some of my professors came, my mom was here, Courtney, Deyoe, Joe, Pat, NAthan, Melissa, my sisters, the basketball crew, Nadine, Kim, Brett and Haley, April LeahCooper, and others. It went over well and the food was delicious
We played croquet, smoked hella cigarettes, played basketball, ate, talked, ate, talked, etc. I had areally great and personable night.
My mom and dad who have been divorced forver and hated each other, in my estimation, got along well, I watched Rob Schneider's "HOT CHICk" and drank lots of beer.
Sherry, cream and berries was one great dish.
Another was lasagna, my mom's special salad,
and dessert, which was a crumble cake with pecans, fruit, and crumbly stuff with icecream and whipped cream.
When Pat and I walked the rest of the way before we jumped ship, Pat was holding up a sign that said "ADMISSIONS," and I kept adding things like: "ADMISSIONS TO GUILT!" ADMISSIONS TO PRETENSION!" Which was really fun
Anyhow, my mom's got to make it to the airport by 5:30 a.m. and it's an hour's drive. I'm going to miss her, because I've had a really nice time, and I think Courtney has too. It's kind of sad, but we're both in transitional phases, anyhow, so we'll see what happens with our lives as they come. All in all though, this experience with her has been one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling times that I've spent with her.
For those of you who still have mom's out there, let them know that you care, if you do.
Love, as ever,
Ian
