I tend to not use peoples names. I have things that I call them specifically but it is almost never their name. It may be a section of their name or one letter but definitely not the whole thing.

It appears to be about reliance, reliance of self and reliance in others and that with that we can overcome anything, be it floods, starvation, wars etc.. And then, and apparently only then, we shall be free. The images had to be jarring and immediate because it's fairly obvious that it's a TV spot. So it's idealistic, but a bit simplistic.
