The artist side of my poor little brain is stressed out. Suddenly, all of my friends have decided that they want me to draw up tattoos for them. This isn't a new phenomenon, as y'all know. But the number of tattoos I'm supposed to be designing at once is the problem. Aside from my ongoing half sleeve designs for myself, I have five tattoos to draw. Seriosuly, I haven't had this much artistic type stress since I finished AP Art in high school.

Three of them are pretty much done; I just need to tweak the designs a little for asthetic reasons. Oh, and I just got reminded about yet another one that I left unfinished. Doh. Luckily, that's about finished as well. And another is about half done; I'm waiting on the future tattooee to pick a design from my sketches.

The most recent request, however, is a bit more challenging. An old friend of mine recently asked me to design her a tattoo with the only instructions being "I want it on my lower back and I want something that represents both individuality and cohesiveness."

And that, kids, is a lot tougher than you'd think. So far I've been playing with designs involving eyes, hearts, and candles. The best one I have so far is an upside down triangle with a candle at the bottom. The triangle is filledin black and the light of the candle is shining in the darkness. The problem is, I can't figure out how to incorporate themes (or symbols of) cohesiveness and unity into this particular design.

So, does anyone have any knowledge of symbols that represent unity or cohesiveness? I'm at a bit of a loss here.

And in other news, I got an email today from my friend Kat. She goes to school in England and, on account of her old email account crapping out, I haven't spoken to her in almost a year. Huttah!
