So I'm at the end of Neil Gaimen's "American Gods." I liked it, but I found the writing to be a bit lacking and the plot, though unique, interesting, and enjoyable, to be fairly predictable. I thought Gaimen strived for a level of depth he didn't quite pull off.
But it was still a really cool and fun book, and I really liked his ideas of ancient gods trapped in the new world and the effects that the new world had on the various gods.
You know, I've run into this problem alot recently. I found Cryptonomicon a bit lacking too. Maybe I'm just being too much of a lit snob. Meh.
Knifefight and I stocked up on food today. This time we made sure to buy plenty of stoner food so that stoned kids won't eat up all of our real food. And for the first time since we moved in, we bought fruit and vegetables! Go eating healthy! Or at least eating less crap.
The combination of Thrice last week, Every Time I Die next monday, and the new Cave In song (in which they scream again!) has firmly planted me in a metal mood for this week. I've been listening to a lot of old Cave In, some Darkest Hour, and, of course, Slayer. Aw yeah. The old technical guitar skills are a bit rusty, but with my newfoud metal energy I restrung my Ibanez and have been shredding to the extent of my shredding abilities.
Oh, and it annoys me more and more that the girl I met has a boyfriend. As I've stated before, she isn't too scene (meaning she likes some bands who have recently been labeled "uncool"), she's cute, and she was the fucking saludatorian of her class.
Seriously, no luck at all.
Oh yes, and a friend of mine has recently ordered some absinthe from Europe. The real stuff, not Absente. Should get here in a week or so.
I'm gonna rock it like Hemmingway, bitches!

You and I will one day eat the planet dry of it's meat sources. My last comment was uh...an April Fool's Joke, and I was...tired.

Yeah, that was a terrible attempt at humor that very few people found amusing. It was inspired by this guy.
