to appease scopitone *wink* i am updating my journal. the lack up updates is due to the fact that i just moved into a new apartment which doesn't have internet yet, so i can only use it at school. this should be remedied by the end of the week...
my brit lit teacher began the semester by talking to us in old english, which was pretty cool. oh, and i was randomly disenrolled last week so sunday night i had to register again, so the class list is as such:
spanish
brit lit
intro to historical studies
global issues
anthropology
all these classes seem cool so far, so at least it wont be a boring semester, even though it is a useless semester (thought i was going to start on my major classes, but the random disenrollment took care of that... both the journalism 1101 classes were full. bah!)
my new apartment is cool. i'm in a compex with a large portion of my friends, and living with suprpkl. (its the summit at lenox for those of you who are ATL savvy, right near the mall on lenox road)
flux goes back to portland on friday, which sucks. well, at least for me. we failed yet again to make our long delayed trip to mississippi...
ummm... other than that, nothing exciting has happened. oh! yeah! in global issues, my teacher informed the class that any student who is not a citizen that misses class more than twice must be reported to the university, and then is reported to homeland security and goes on a national criminal list of some sort. i thought this was the biggest bunch of bullshit i've ever heard. john ashcroft deserves to rot in hell. once i get he internet back, im gonna research this and do a post in current events about it...
oh yeah, and i thought it was fairly disgusting when, the other day, i talked to my former roommate and he "for the first time started questioning whether to vote for bush or not because of the new immigration laws." my response was that the systematic removal of our constitutional rights under he patriot acts didnt piss him off, but the fact that an illegal immigrant is granted temporary amnesty to go do manual labor did?
i think that, as a good right winger, the fact that your civil liberties are being removed (i mean they raise enough hell about the second ammendment, why not the fourth?) would piss you off a bit more than the fact that bush just legalized indentured servitude in america.
man, i fucking hate people.

yay to the new apartment- i used to petsit at those apartments- they're nice
I can't believe that happened, but it's certainly not an unusual occurence. I'm assuming Flux has heard as well
