ok...
so far this week i have had to deal with emotional crap because i am lame like that,
get my friend john, my exgirlfriend's new boyfriend (flux he wants to talk to you btw you should call him or IM him)
to stop thinking i hate him and get that back in order,
study media theories for my speech 2050 class final tomorrow,
write a paper analyzing kill bill using said theories (i'm going with this movie could be damaging to the viewer and society because it romanticizes assassination and the criminal underworld. according to genre theory forms of media shape how we percieve the world and shape our reality, and according to symbolic convergence theory a collection of individuals who share a common fantasy become a cohesive group and will work together to make said fantasy a reality. in other words, this movie makes you want to be a badass ninja assassin. and hey, i love the violence, but who saw that movie and DIDN"T want to be a badass ninja assassin?),
write another paper on James Baldwin's
Go Tell It On The Mountain in which i assert that Baldwin used the themes of original sin and the quest for salvation as engines for both his characters actions and historical events occuring during the time period the book was set in,
and its only monday. this is going to be one long week. and over the weekend i get to do a presentation on Go Tell It On The Mountain and study for my biology final, both of which are on tuesday, as well as get out of my lease and go sign another one for a new apartment in atlanta, and then probably move too.
luckily, after next tuesday, all my troubles will be over and i will be able to relax for a month before school begins again in january.

For a movie with such an arguably simple plot, Kill Bill has been discussed quite alot amongst my friends. Personally I felt as if sometimes QT was trying to make you side with the protagonist and get into a mindframe wherein her actions were completely justified. However, I didn't really feel that enough of the story was presented for me to feel strongly about her motivation one way or the other. I mean, she did really get shat on, but it's not as if she was a peaceful innocent. But I guess in this film the protagonist's motive is not so germane to the story as it is in most movies. I still enjoyed it greatly.
But I have long since fell(uh, fallen i mean) into the trap of wanting to be a badass ninja assassin.
