so i'm finally back at school after a magnificent turkey day weekend at home (new jersey rules!). my aunt and uncle (my dad's "little" brother) were up visiting from north carolina. they both just recently quit their jobs and are now kayaking like there's no tomorrow and learning how to play the fiddle and the mandolin (my uncle the fiddle, my aunt the mandolin). they gave us a little bluegrass concert of our very own. i only really got to see 3 of my good friends, but you know what? that's okay, because they're the 3 of my friends from home that still mean the most to me. so that was cool. i saw this wonderfully horrific movie on friday night with my friend amanda from home called "ski school" that had a couple of the guys from "summer school" in it (chainsaw and kevin to those in the know). all in all it was a good weekend. so today was/is my other friend amanda's birthday. yes, this is the same friend amanda that is turning into more than a friend. but anyway, i was hoping to see her today and bake her a birthday cake, but alas, she doesn't get back home from dc until tomorrow. we'll just have to celebrate then. but i missed her over the weekend, and that's a good sign. this might turn out to be a very good thing. but i don't want to curse myself, so i'm not going to get my hopes up. i learned a long time ago not to do such things. but regardless, i'm in a pretty good mood right now. and i'm now officially on someone's (Catatonia's) friend list, which put a smile on my face, and i got a very nice comment from linz thanking me for my comment on her set. first time that's happened. it put another smile on my face.
. quick question...has anyone out there heard of a band called "senses fail"? they just signed to drive-thru, and i'm curious to know what people think of them. the only reason i ask is because i went to high school with the lead singer, and while i never really talked to him, he's a friend of some friends. rawk on. listen to thrice.
