It's been a long time since I've been to Death Valley. I went there on a Geology field trip when I was in junior college on Thanksgiving weekend. That was probably 1981, though it could have been 1982.

Time to go back.

So, I'm planning to head out to Death Valley on 01 April 2017 for a day of photography. I think Mrs. DeadGuitarist will...

@littlejohn22, yes, there is camping ⛺️ and a couple of lodges/hotels inside the park for those who want to stay in the park but aren't campers.

Sounds awesome, I've always been intrigued by Death Valley.

I just wanted to take a moment to thanks the few people for checking in with me the past few weeks to see if I was ok, since I haven't written any blogs (No WCW/Pink Magic blogs, no personal updates, etc.) in about a month and haven't been very active for longer than that.

Thank you @asteria, @zen, @nebula and @skisby for that. I really...

Great read, I understand what you mean about being introverted, is it weird that I'm actually more comfortable going to the Blackheart Burlesque in LA than I am in the UK? Glad you're sticking around.

@littlejohn22, especially the 18-200mm lens. I got it by accident. I ordered a $3 eyepiece cover in an order with some other stuff (lens filters and whatnot). Amazon sent me the lens instead of the eyepiece cover by mistake. That lens is listed on Amazon for $650. So I got it for $3.

OMG, awesome deal... I want to start dabbling in Stop motion animation and started to look into cameras

This blog has been a long time coming...

I took a weekend trip to Southern California 04-05 February 2017. I chronicled the second day of the trip a few weeks ago. Here's part I...

I'll start with Friday, 03 February 2017. I took a vacation day so I'd have time to get things together... do laundry and pack. Did laundry and packed up my backpack,...

Well there sure are a lot of them... 😂 plus, Gordon Ramsay has multiple restaurants in Vegas. I do love the glamour though, even though it's all a sham. The hotels enchant me :)

Many of the casinos are quite beautiful, interesting architecture, and have cool attractions (Bellagio Conservatory and the Bellagio Art Gallery come specifically to mind), but I avoid the Strip at all costs unless absolutely necessary because of all the traffic (auto and foot) and the fact that most of the casinos on the Strip now charge for parking. Occasionally we head there for concerts (we're going to the Iron Maiden concert at the new T-Mobile Arena on 03 July 2017) or when we have guests who want to explore the Strip, but that's about it.

@nebula planned and coordinated a fun outing on 05 February 2017 to explore Bombay Beach, a bit of Salton Sea and Salvation Mountain. I made a weekend of it, but since I processed the photos from the SG outing, I'm starting with Part II of my weekend in SoCal.

From the group thread it looked like there was going to be a fairly sizable group...

@zen, thank you! I get warm fuzzies when I get compliments from such accomplished photographers such as you. And thank you for checking on me. @asteria checked with me the other day. I feel blessed to have people I've not met in person checking in to see if I'm doing ok. I am; just been extremely tired for quite some time. I know part of it is my own fault, which I'm working on fixing. Sometimes it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks even when he knows they're good tricks to have. I hope to finish processing my photos from Joshua Tree National Park and Salton Sea North Beach and write my SoCal Trip Part I blog this week. 🤗 & 😘

🤗Wish I could've been on this trip too! Looks like it was a good time😊

I know, I've been a mostly MIA the past two or three weeks. I'm really sorry about that. I know a lot of you enjoy my blogs (especially my Pink Magic blogs). I've been around, lurking more than writing and commenting, though I've commented on a few photosets, blog posts and group threads. It's just that I've been rather busy and, I guess, needed a...
