I admit it. I like shoes and boots.
My favorite shoe brands are Vans, Otomix and Nike. Otomix (far right) makes primarily training shoes: weightlifting, boxing, and cross trainers. They are comfortable enough to wear every day though. I started wearing them when I was working out regularly (more or less a bodybuilding regimen) when I was in the USAF. They are hard to find in stores, but you can get them online.
I like Sketchers too because they are super comfortable and help with the plantar fasciitis pain I occasionally get (both feet, but not usually at the same time). But Sketchers didn't have training shoes in colors other than black and white when I went in the store the other day and I wanted something colorful. So Nikes this time.
These Nikes are really comfortable and I love the colors. I got them at Dick's Sporting Goods. I bought them mainly for the gym, but I'll be wearing them out sometimes too. I need, well want, some other styles and colors... Blue, orange, purple, more green. No black or white for a while though. My Sketchers' athletic shoes are black, and though I like white sneakers, I'm a little burnt out on white for the time being.
I absolutely love my Lowa hiking boots (far right). I wear them a lot, even if I'm not hiking. They are so comfortable and light. I really like the Hi-Tec hiking boots next to the Lowa's, but they are insulated so I don't wear them much during the hot Vegas summers. They've lasted a long time and are still in good condition despite being 6 or 7 years old.
As I said I love Vans (I have 6 pair), but my plantar fasciitis will flare up if I wear them too frequently. Same thing for western boots, so I don't wear my western boots very often anymore ☹️. That said, I'm always on the lookout for some funky Vans.
I have a couple pairs of classic dress shoes that I hardly ever wear, but keep around for those really infrequent times I need/have to wear a suit.
Birkenstock's are really good at relieving plantar fasciitis pain too. I have three pairs of Birkies, which I wear when the plantar fasciitis pain is especially bad (which, thankfully, hasn't happened in about 10 years).
