I need to get this out...
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't understand all the hullabaloo over transgender people using the restroom of the gender with which they identify.
#1 Can you tell if a person is transgender just by looking at him/her. Not likely. You've probably seen at least one, if not more depending upon where you live, and never knew it. Perhaps that woman looks a little masculine or that man looks a little more feminine, but there are many straight men and women like that, aren't there?
#2 Ladies, if a woman, who identifies as a man, uses a women's restroom, how would you know? There aren't any urinals in a women's restroom (I know, I had clean a few at Six Flags when I was a teenager), so this woman must use a stall. Unless this woman stands up to pee and you're looking at her feet under the stall walls, which means you're creepy, how would you know she is really a he?
#3 Men, if a man, who identifies as a woman, uses a men's restroom, how would you know? The man is going to use a stall all the time, because it's hard for a woman to pee standing up. And since it's not unusual for people to sit on a toilet in a stall, how would you know he is really a she?
So, what's the big deal about transgender people using the bathroom of the gender with which they identify? You'd probably never know! In my opinion, it's much ado about nothing.
On the other hand, what if a woman, who identifies as a man, is forced to use the bathroom of the gender she was born as? Now, you have a person, who looks like a man, forced to use a women's restroom. So a man walks into a women's restroom and causes a scene because he, who has female parts, must use the women's restroom. Women are going to scream and complain and who knows what else, even though, the "man" has no choice but to comply with the law. And when the police come to investigate are they going to require the "man" drop his pants to prove he's a woman by birth? And wouldn't that open up all kinds of legal ramifications for police departments and states for illegal search for women's genitalia? And the same for a man who identifies as a woman and must use the men's restroom. Nope, that's not creepy at all 😳<rolls eyes>.
