I have good journals, naughty journals, travel journals, photo journals, and now even the mother of all journals. like you, except for the photo journals, I never go back and read what I wrote. Maybe one day, maybe they'll be burned.

I like putting them in nice notebooks or albums with acid free paper so that I can write or draw around them. One project I plan on doing is printing all those pics I've been meaning to for ages and putting them in the giant new journal mentioned earlier. I'd like to draw out a family tree and make it a mix of everything from family, to travels, to little notes, momentos, etc. Will have to snap a pic of the "heirloom" book to show you. It's really cool. It is made of a beautiful blue embossed leather with rough edged parchment type archival paper. I watched it all year until finally it went on major sale around my birthday a couple of years ago and I snapped it up. It's big enough to fit a lifetime in it. One day I'd like to make a stand for it like the kind used for giant dictionaries, but who knows?

What kind of journals do you like? Mostly I like either thin lined or unlined paper, leatherbound with a wrap around string. They just feel so Indiana Jones. But moleskins are good for carrying around. I'm not into the ones with dates on them where you have a certain amount of space to write for that day. Too structured for me.
