Dear Diary, or something like that.

I'm in sunny Saskatoon. The sky is quite large. Thank Christ there's a bunch of clouds, or I might be a little frightened of all the atmoshpere I can see. Ah, Flat Land. I must remember to avoid walking certain places, lest my heart end up on the right side of my body. That could cause all sorts of...

Well, Bubba... Vegas was a bust. My car developed some sort of fuel delivery problem that remains to be sorted out in spite of a number of mechanics who all claim nothing's wrong. Running like a top. Right. Then why does it act like it's out of gas after a couple hundred kilometers?

Spent some time in the desert nevertheless... But in friendly Skaha. Far...

Time for an update, I suppose... And what better time than now? You see, Bubba, I've just woken up to a glaring reminder that it is not, in fact, morning, but afternoon. Little red numbers ruining my delusions. I must have forgotten to actually set my alarm after late night Cribbage action at the shop. I figure I'm justified in being late, though, what with...

I'd go climbing.

Disc golf is awesome - have fun.

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks!

Normally I shoot digital, but I shoot b+w film once in awhile. Various types of ilford.

Things I learned this weekend:

1. I love a good breakfast. Umm... yes. And so on.

2. You can manage to get a canoe with 150 lbs of gear and two people stuck at the lip of a waterfall and not dump your stuff... or land in the water. But PFDs are a great idea. Also, you can hit a brige piling at high velocities...

Life is more fun if you get to pick your reality!

You have 3 life skills listed in your journal! Good for you! smile Sadly, I'd fail at least 2 of them frown

Breakfast seems to be a concept I can't grasp. Though I love the IDEA of breakfast!

And I'm quite sure that water is intent on my death, thus removing any chance of me getting into a canoe or even being in a 100 foot radius.

So, that leaves me with conversations about Somalia. Hmmm. I might just be 0 for 3.

Sounds like you lead quite the adventurous life though! smile

Well, I had quite an excellent day yesterday... so much so that it might have been nice to have read my horoscope as warning. To prepare, you understand. News of Tomaz' rescue trickled down the pipe. Work proceeded without incident. In fact, I left a little early to undertake a mission with chickadee. After a drive past Elbow Pass and a failed attempt at Powderface...

I think a taser might be wise since I don't think the goatee is going to hold people off for long! whatever

I was just thinking about the "fiiiish in the per-co-lator"! LOL! Don"t drink the coffee. It's the darndest thing...

I love the fact that Twin Peaks shared the border with Quebec! By basic geographic setup it would have been in my neck of the woods! We have the same basic scenery but lack the local colour frown Though we have plenty of plastic for...wrapping wink

Tomaz Humar is, as I write, stuck on the Rupal Face of Nanga Parbat. I've never met the man, but tales of his courage and determination in the face of the extremes of high altitude mountain climbing have been a source of inspiration in my own pursuits of my rather minute goals. I have had far too many of my heros and idols fall over...

LOL! biggrin You've got a good point! I suppose just spinning around gazing at it's paws wouldn't be that good for it either!

Dang! It's not easy finding a lifestyle choice for a shaved cat. frown Any suggestions?
chikadee:
Hmmmmmmmmmm. but really given the option is it better to risk it all on the biggest cornice you've ever seen, close to what feels like home and some real notion of universal love...Or stay in the raging metropolis and die from car fumes and eventually get hit by a bus when you're crossing the street with your walker. There seems to be a lot of chatter on here about dark rooms... This got me thinking all nostalgic about mine, sitting dustly and neglected in my basement. You see, I decided it wasn't so much worth flushing photo chemicals down the drain - something to be avoided at all costs, especially if you work with silvers, seleniums, and ciba chemicals - unless I wanted...

i know of nova, who are the other two?

but, that does make my life easier... as I'm really (badly now that someone mentioned she wants me to shoot her some shots) to experiment with nude modelling.

Not me of course, my junk stays in my pants.
chikadee:
Junk's gotta be the funniest anatomy description ever.
I was thinkin that you me and zenFish should get together for a day of walkin' about and taking random shots. I'd be a fun excuse to dust off the SLR. You up for movies tomorrow or somethin'? Let little smart jenny from the block in on any plans we figure out too 'cause she's radd. smile

As it turns out, slugging back cup after endless, black cup of coffee really does nothing for me anymore. Except, of course, make me wish - when the dull headache and stomach twitches kick in - that I had had at least one less cup. Such is the nature of addiction and guilt, I suppose. Oddly, though, I imagine I should be feeling some guilt...

Just leaving the house now! I'll have two chika's with me who are in the mood for beer. See what higher learning does to us...or wait a sec, that's just genetics. Cheers soon to be had.
zenfish:
Thanks for the compliment on the photo, I just noticed now how both 'men' are the same.... I remember waiting on that shot, setting up, and then making sure I had someone in the shot.

Interesting how things work out.

As for darkroom stuff, ja, I need to get some stuff to make a ceiling/walls... and then look into getting the equipment for b/w... I might look into color a friend/coworker mentioned about a color 'travel' kit from a pretty good company... no harm in looking about really.

Espcially seeing that I want to do some nude model shots... and I know of no place in town that will let that stuff in.

Joined suicide girls today... Pretty damned exciting, let me tell you. Part of a pact. Perhaps a secret pact, but I didn't ask. Discretion is the better part of something, you understand. Suffice it to say that it wasn't a suicide pact. Or was it?

That has definite possibilities, I'll see if I can scrounge up some loose beer change. Makes me wish that my couch was of the pick-pocket variety then I could always afford beer and I'd never spend a cent. .C.
dead_milkman:
Well... if your change-scrounging mission comes up short we could always substitute a park bench and a bottle of wine in a brown paper bag. Or I could just buy you a beer or two. Either way.
