Re: commenting your own blog. It's not taboo, but people don't get notified if you do it, so if you're responding to something or talking to someone [besides yourself] and you do it in your own blog, they'll pretty much never know, never see it .. etc. So instead, do it in their blog and they'll get the indicator up top .. and it's just better for everyone. Also, that way it doesn't get confusing if you have a bunch of different conversations [like I do typically on my blogs] trying to respond to all of them in the same thread -- I just go to their blog and respond.
