The 'I haven't been around much lately' blog.

I've seen others like this - and now i understand.
You immerse yourself in SG when things are slow at work, get into a rhythm,
then bang ... you have a vacation coming up so you have to work 10 times harder so you dont leave a mess to clean up when you get back, and wham, the magazine you're doing part time stuff for gets busier than anticipated.

so i havent been around online exept for a second or 2 here and there. I'm missing peoples blogs, missing geezer chat, missing comments in the various groups.

Last weekend was this big hellish fan expo - pretty much an overcrowded disorganized mess.
i may have to rethink this one next year. 3 days of my life spend standing in lines being jostled by aimless people who have no idea how to behave in a situation like that. (my camera got whacked hard enough to change a setting it took me ages to figure out and correct)

This week i'm off work, doing stuff with my kid before school starts. yesterday it was a day trip to the african lion safari, today its a day trip to Marine Land. Both places are tourist hell but my kid gets a kick out of them.
There's nothing quite like your car being attacked by crazy looking ostritches (have you seen these things up close ? they look - and act - nuts .

Tomorrow the fun is cut short - my kid gets to spend the last day of his summer vacation in day surgery - he has a small tear in one of his eardrums .. this is ongoing since he was a baby. the kid cant get a break.

I've got a lot of writing to do for the magazine (both print and web)
Next up - a visit to the set of Hostel 3 in a couple of weeks.

Last night of summer volleyball is tonight ... and indoor starts in 3 weeks. gotta heal my foot by then.

and - thats all the time i have - gotta run - again.
