I just saw The Station Agent. Such a cool little movie. you all should check it out at Embarcadero Center. I'm sure it'll disapear soon. Miffy, sorry I didn't call you but today was one of those days where I just didn't want to talk to anybody. Which made the movie perfect to see today. It's about a dwarf who doesn't really want to talk to people. Aparently he's a little bit bitter about his lot in life and has learned to just avoid people and escape into his one passion, which is obsessing about trains.
He ends up inheriting a small old train station in a little town and he goes to live there. While there he becomes sort of a magnet for people in the town who feel alone. I guess they figure that he would understand how they feel so they reach out to him and try to be his freind but really he just wants to be alone.
Eventually, ...well ...they all become friends. The end.
Obviously it's a little more complicated than that, but it's a quiet, simple, funny little movie and you should see it.
