I have a personal goal for the next few months.
For once rather than hating the cold rainy winter months I'm going to try to embrace it. I'm going to buy a good umbrella and a nice warm jacket and I'm going to spend a lot of time in coffee shops reading and maybe writing. A freind gave me a blank journal a few months ago (thanks JC) and I think it's time I use it.
I'm gonna listen to music like the Postal Service. That band totally make me feel good on rainy days. And also also the Amelie soundtrack is awesome for rainy days. and Interpol. In general I'm gonna try to find new bands to listen to.
And I'm gonna stock up on generic fruity instant oatmeal and poptarts. Maybe I'll take up drinking tea.
I'm looking forward to the winter holidays--thanksgiving has always been a fave, and christmas and I'm gonna save up all my partying till new years. and the day after new years I'm gonna celebrate like I did last year by eating the most expensive steak dinner I can find. I won't be able to go home for Christmas this year so I'm aiming for a few days in early January and I need that for a while. I'm also looking forward to December 17th when the greatest movie trilogy of all time concludes. I'm sure there'll be other good movies out to. Also, it's been about a year since I've read a book and I think I need to do one again just so I don't forget how.
I'm going to work on mandolin stuff and maybe have another concert at my house.** I'm gonna focus on having fun and only play a few songs and not worry about messing up or going out of tune.
I'm gonna focus on bartending and like I wrote in my last journal I'm gonna try to forget all about the pasta place. I'm gonna just accept it for what it is and not get emotional about how disappointed I am by it.
Maybe I'll by a bike and go on early morning bikerides with thepromdate.
My freind who moved to Europe comes back in December and I can't tell you how happy that makes me.
In general I'm just gonna figure out whats good about the winter and I'm gonna have fun with that stuff.
Most of all I'm going to try to not feel lonely.
So there you go. That's what I'm gonna do. This winter is gonna be the best ever.

**[edit: yes I have just decided that I deffinatly will be having another mando concert at my house. mark your calenders: the tentitive date is Sunday Dec 7th.]

antiprincess:
I suggest hot chocolate for brightening a rainy day, especially hot chocolate with a candy cane in it.
