It is the most interesting and important thing that has happened in the war in a very very long time.
The ramifications of how it plays out will be huge.

If you opposed the war you need the Iraqi government to win this. If you want the US to leave that country as soon as possible you want them to prove that they can handle this sort of thing with as little US help as possible.
And things look good too. The news is saying that Sadr is ordering his guys to back down.
