Wow. Awesome weekend. Friday, Melli came by and we had girls' night in. Low-key, just hanging out. We had tea after dinner and she brought a rose bouquet for me that's still looking perky!
Saturday, I worked, but didn't do too well. Fortunately, papawheelie and BombshellBetty came to the rescue with the best party I've been to in ages! I even met Erica and Thistle both for the first time!
Sunday continued the good times early, starting with a 9am breakfast with Oskar, followed by sightseeing together in San Francisco. Check out his journal for pictures. I am still sunburned.

In the afternoon, I visited with an old friend and we saw Hotel Rwanda. Everyone has a responsibility to see this movie. It moved me more than I can explain. Over a million Tutsis were slaughtered in Rwanda by the Hutus in the early nineties. The US and UN acted shamefully, evacuating their citizens, then leaving the country with only a few "peacekeepers" instructed not to fire on the Hutus. If it had been a European country (Bosnia), they would not have let this slaughter go on. It was genocide and the West turned their backs. Don Cheadle gave an Oscar-worthy performance. See the movie, I urge you.


No question of the day. I couldn't think of a happy one because my best friend has decided to go grey.
