Blech. That NewBoy has turned out not to be as sensitive with others' feelings as I'd hoped. He basically has been accusing me of wanting "more", which confused me (we've been doing the "light and fun" thing, as I don't get serious easily, and that's what he said he wanted, too), and it turns out that he is unable to do the friends-with-benefits thing like he said he could. The real kicker is that he's not in love with me, but still into his ex, and couldn't or wouldn't be honest about it. I will miss the sex and the camaraderie, but mostly I'm angry and hurt that he lied to me because it torpedoes what used to be a solid friendship. I feel gypped.


EDIT: I can't leave a negative thing as my only blog, so please tell me what's good in your life right now, big or small.

I'll start:
- cufflinks and I bought our mom a really posh handbag for Christmas, even though it was a splurge, and she's totally going to cry when she opens it.
- A hot firefighter came by today to pick up the donation barrel from this weekend, and I got that girly weak-kneed thing for the first time in ages.
- My restaurant isn't allowed to have a holiday party (corporate rule), so we're spending the money we would've used adopting an underpriveleged family and not only buying gifts for the kids, but giving the parents gift cards for fuel and groceries and their electric bill and such.
- I have a job with a fairly stable company, and I even have health benefits. Those of you who've known me ages know what a big deal that is for me.
- I am in good health these days, as is my family.
- I have two cats and a dog who love me even when I'm acting like a maniac.
- I couldn't start the Z the other day, but figured out that I had an electrical problem leading to my fuel pump, and fixed it right up. No mechanic necessary.
- I have been given some outstanding compliments lately by people I respect and admire.
