Quick update:
- I found a perfect suit when I made my emergency trip yesterday morning - it even has pink pinstripes!
- The Nutcracker was very good, but I was surprised when they brought in an additional ballerina to dance with the Nutcracker prince at the end, rather than having him dance with the Sugarplum Fairy. It was during the Sugarplun Fairy music, so my mom, grandma, and I were a little confused. It was pretty, but some of the choreography wasn't as strong as the previous production. But the way they updated it was really nice, and didn't detract from the story at all. And the sets were marvelous. And you know what else? A Beezer was there! She looked lovely, and it was nice to meet her in person when I actually know who she is.
- Work was crazy last night - it was slow, so we sent a bartender home, and the other waitress was walking out the door when we got slammed. The bartender who was left got completely buried, and the other waitress wound up clocking back in to go behind the bar & help out. We had our hostess (who was off the clock) bar-backing, and I ran my ass of. And I had this guy sitting by my server station trying to coach me on waitressing "smile more. you'll make more money". Finally, I told him I make the most money when he doesn't interrupt my concentration, and I can get people's orders right. Besides, I smile when I bring drinks or take an order. I hate it when people come in and assume I can't do my job. I usually smile, but when I'm covering twice as many people as usual, I'm too busy trying to remembeer who gets what!
- My good work pants got ruined yesterday - a loose nail ripped a hole in them. So now I have to go shopping on my way to work instead of eating breakfast. Good thing there's a Starbucks by my work - when they're slow, they'll bring stuff over to me!
- I have to work a double today, but then I have four days off! Yay!
- It's almost Christmas! Yay!
- Wish me money at work! I'm opening and closing the restaurant today - I'm gonna be a tired girl!
