He is to be found in the church of St. James, Garlick Hill, London. He was found, many years ago, and lived for a while, in the case shown on the rear cover. I saw him in about 1983 - and he is more unpleasant in person than the photographs show.

The first (1970) book to lift the lid on what would actually happen if red buttons were pushed, and M.A.D. was to occur. All the tunnels, bunkers and citadels under London and elsewhere, where the 'great and good' (there are very few of these people), would hide and plan, ensuring that, although your house and street has been destroyed, the streetlights will still work. No, honestly.

The question being; can I imagine the first Doctor saying this... No, I can't. But it is a lovely image.

Taken at Blackgang Chine, on the Isle Of Wight, just off the south coast of England. Not Ideal weather to visit a theme park (the wind was gusting at around 50mph.+) but still wonderful - I do love bleak and exposed areas. My brother and I last visited here in 1977, and since then, about 300 yards of the place has gone - lost to landslips and the sea. It had been all beautifully planted terraces - now all gone, and the many attractions moved inland. Sadly, it's a battle that the owners are going, one day, to lose.
Hi. It's me, the artist formerly known as 'mrwaverly'. Because of my lassitude in checking bank details, etc., my last account was cancelled. But, thanks to the sterling work of lovely Kiley, I'm back. Thank you so very much. God, I've missed this. No, really. I love this site, and felt lost without it. Now I'm back, and very, very happy again.
