Summer's here, and the time is right, for dancing in the streets!

Summer in a small, empty college town is actually pretty nifty. The forcast is for lethargy with a chance of naps!
kriss:

OOPS... nope the porn sex was not with so said couple!! That WAS just dinner!

That night my porn sex came before dinner!

Schoooools out for SUMMER!

Anyone doing anything fun this summer? I'm using my newly acquired Universal Life Church ordination (that's right - I'm Reverend Dash now!) to marry some friends this summer (not in the poly way, to be sure...). I'll also be hitting Utah (in-laws), Massachusetts (work), and possibly Minnesota, if there's any money left in August...

How about...

Well, the long wait is over: I have been granted tenure at my university!

That means I REALLY have to screw students -- er, up -- to get fired now.

So, I started Spring Break by drinking too much Friday night, then Sunday driving 90 minutes to encounter a tornado.

[Updated 3/17]

And now I just finished my first 5K race in 20 years. I won't underwhelm you with my time....

Anybody else doing anything interesting?

I'm watching the Monty Python Personal Best on PBS right now. Monty Python always makes me happy! And stuff this good gets me to thinking about the cultural things I've witnessed in my life that made me truly happy. These would include, for me (in no particular order):

Monty Python's Flying Circus
The Beatles (esp. Revolver & Abbey Road)
Bob Dylan (esp. Bringing It All...

It is the paper on maya bloodletting rituals. I did it as an undergrad a few years ago. Not that it is anywhere near my specific research interests today (personal interests, yes).

So things have quieted down from the holiday froohahas. I'm still catching my breath from getting all the major projects done over break, and then had to launch right into syllabi and classes. My goal this semester is to scale WAY back and just do what needs to be done and not much else.

The garbage disposal had to be replaced the first week of...

So, it's almost here... are you all going to get what you most desire? And does that involve latex or stap-ons in any way? (Latex for me, please!)

Why don't you tell me what you want, what you really really want, this Christmas/Hanukka/Solstice/Kwanzaa/New Years/Mardi Gras/Valentines Day?

Oooooh, I'm going to go and make my own church sign with this link as my inspiration and post it everywhere! Anti-Gay Pastor (insert grinning devil head here) LOL

Yeah, actually my man JUST went to the lawyer today and he said he should have NO problem getting joint custody of the kids. Especially since she got pregnant by another man while still married to my man. She was trying to say in the papers that she had been a good and faithful wife and that she was going to do all of this on the basis of cruel and inhumane treatment...which they've been separated for almost 6 years now AND he never hit her..so we have NO idea where they came up with THAT idea..but the lawyer said they dont' even have a case to base that on and that it was probably just a scare tactic to get us to give her what she wants. So anywho....now to just come up wtih an additional $1,000! AH!

So, the pipes burst in our finished former garage. frown

On the upside, we should get it remodeled for the cost of the insurance deductible.

On the downside, let's just say, "Merry Christmas kids! It's a recarpeted garage!"

I'm back, have you missed me? I know you have!

I was off to Philadelphia for my annual professional conference -- I was involved in three back to back to back sessions Saturday, 'cause I'm chair, and then I blew off almost everything else to eat cheesesteaks and fondue. And more cheese! Cheese, Grommit! And I may have another book deal. Or two!

Monday I...
