so I tested positive for COVID on tuesday, after three goddamn years of masking and skipping all these amazing fucking shows and almost never eating in restaurants (I live in Iowa, which has finally become the right-wing shithole smug liberals have always thought it was) and my own kids getting it multiple times.
Day 0 (monday, when i first started experiencing symptoms) and 1 were both pretty bad. the latter was the worst; I was feverish and fatigued and...just really feverish and fatigued. anyone that says it's just a cold is...wrong. this felt more like h1n1, only with worse body aches. my fever got up in the 102 range, which is bad, but i got paxlovid right away, so i only really felt like ass on day 0,1, and 2. i started to feel closer to normal on day 3, but my fever would still come back at night, and I had a really bad night of day 4, where i got stuck in a fever dream loop, but by day 5, i started to feel on the mend.
today is day 6, my first day without paxlovid, and i'm glad to be rid of that taste (although spicy pickles helped while i had them). I'd say I'm almost at 90%.
But I had to cancel the vacation I had planned with my sons, which sucks.
0/10 would not recommend.
