My sister lost her wedding ring years ago and she was devastated!! She had only been married about two years, (just celebrated her 46th anniversary) but the story had a happy ending. At the time, she and her husband were renting a house from a nice little old lady who lived next door. My sister and brother-in-law rented the home for five years before buying their first home. Several years after they had moved to their new home, there was a plumbing problem at the home they had previously rented, and the plumber found my sister's wedding ring in the pea-trap under the kitchen sink. The home's owner, Mrs. Sells remembered my sister had lost her wedding ring and as luck would have it, I was Mrs. Sells paperboy. My sister is 12 years older than I am. Anyway, Mrs. Sells got up at five in the morning, just to give me the ring when I passed by with her newspaper. Imagine my Big Sis's surprise when I brought the ring to her 5 years after she had lost it!!

In another lost wedding ring situation, I was working for National Linen Service as a route driver right after I graduated from high school. One on my regular stops was the employee's cafeteria at Exxon Mobil, but back then it was just Mobil Oil. Anyway, it's linen "rental" so the route drivers have to count everything they pick up at every stop, and whatever we pick up one day is what we bring back the next. Needless to say, it can be kind of a nasty job, because the dirty linen is typically caked in grease and often covered with maggots. So, as I was sorting through all the various bags of linen and I hear a little tinkling sound as I dump an open bag out to sort and count it. Digging through all the dirty dish towels I found a diamond ring. I took the ring to the cafeteria manager and she freaked out!! Turns out, the ring belonged to one of the ladies who worked in the cafeteria who had been absolutely heartbroken over losing it!! Words can not explain how good it made me feel to be able to give the lady her wedding ring back!! She was a big black woman and she hugged me so hard she nearly squeezed the breath out of me!! Needless to say, past that point lunch was on the house whenever I serviced the Mobil Oil Employee's Cafeteria!!

Point being, don't give up hope!! Wedding rings sometimes get lost and sometimes get found, I can personally attest to that!!
