So i'm a biotech guy. Tech geek, scientist, whatever you wanna call me. My kid became ill in january this year. Made me do some research that uncovered a problem that could affect all of us. I thought about it. Alot i guess. Came up with an idea to address the problem on a national scale. Found a startup mentor and a friend who could find the vc i need to get it off the ground. Wrote a proposal for one of the world's leading genomics scientists to front the effort. And got a message to the white house about it, just cause i need their political support to get it done. Maybe got a copy of my pitch into vp joe biden's hands. But i've pushed it for 10 weeks and i'm not getting any response yet, except a form response from obama to my contact the white house fishing expedition.
I call it precision medicine--nutrition amd lifestyle. I have a few startup possibilities around it. It is all for passion because something or many things is wrong with consumption of packaged food and modernized plants and cereals. We have gotten lazy and don't exercise appropriately. My plan involves helping people with gastro food sensitives and diseases. And studying digestion more completely in the context of the microbiome. Doing this to debunk alot of bullshit out there about food and supplements these days. To help fda implement new strategies for food safety. And to raise awareness that by simply changing our diets in important ways, reducing stress and getting active, you can have an enormous impact on obesity, t2d, heart disease, and probably numerous other conditions.
We are at a crisis point in our culture about dealing with the way we live. I can't do this alone though. I put almost all my effort into this as i got laid off from my day job recently. Should i give up if i can't find the like minded partners and experts i need? I can find them. I just can't get them to respond yet.
Thoughts? White house response attached if you're interested. I was generic with my question, just testing functionality.
