Well I'm currently getting over a nasty flu that his me yesterday morning at about 3. I honestly don't think that I've been this sick for many years; and, I can now tell you that one of the few downsides to living by yourself is is that when you are sick there is no one to help you out or even feel sorry for you.
Its funny, really, but its been my experience that no matter how tough or strong minded a man is, the second he gets sick he becomes a 6 year old begging for his mother. My Dad is like this; I don't think I've ever heard him complain about much of anything, he'd the very definition of stoic; that is, until he gets sick. SIckness reduces him to a young boy, lying in bed, basiclly begging for attention. It turns out, I'm not much better myself.
On the bright side, I'm actually feeling a bit better. Nothing like a killer flu, and every symptom to go along with it, to put everything in perspective. I've still got one more application out there and, even if that falls though, I'll find something else to do. Hell, teaching High School is even preferable to being sick biggrin

I am definitely against being sick. the particular strain of flu I tend to get starts with strong bouts of dizziness. The first time it happened it was so strange I walked to the hospital emergency room, and by the end I was almost so disoriented I couldn't turn the corner to enter the building.

But I'm much better now.

hmmm, I was considering Mark Twain for Springsteen (great minds n all), but I think maybe Steinbeck because he's more hard hitting and less clever.
