Ta da! Pictures have arrived! Click here for my photo tour of Cuba. I'm going to put the pictures of Bellamar Cave in a separate folder, 'cause there's a lot of them and you have to like caves.
I'm watching a great blob of West Wing right now, so that's all I have. If you missed the tale of Havana panhandlers, check my last entry.... Read More
Okay. Cuba pictures are coming. Here's why there's a delay: My lappy's default picture viewer has no "resize" feature, so whilst in Cuba if there was a picture I wanted to post, I'd simply take it twice: once in the "printable" resolution, once in the lowest resolution. However, it turns out that many of the low-res shots were still over 100K. But fear not, gentle... Read More
They do the photo thing everywhere; I have a photo of the grim reaper from Dam square in Amsterdam. Only, he didn't know I took it! HA! Beat that stupid grim reaper.
Stories will come. Pictures will come... for real this time. Once the settle-in period has passed. I've got my 30-hour lockdown at the Moviedome to bleach my tanned flesh back to its normal albino pale and scrub all memory of blissful vacation from my mind.
But I have returned. It doesn't feel all that bad, all things considered. So, what did I... Read More
It's that time. Tomorrow morning, the family and I depart for sunny Cuba for a week. How've I done in terms of getting ready?
Quarter Century workshop: Done. Some very different views on how the script could/should progress from where it is now. With slightly over a year until I intend to even consider starting production, I figure I have time to mull them over.... Read More
So now there's comments and messages, eh? Very well. I can deal with that. Still not thrilled about the whole profile pic next to your comment thing, but mostly because I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a decent picture of me taken since 1994 and maybe they don't need to show up every damn place.
Anyhoo.
I had a lenghty tale about a self-depreciating experiment... Read More
I've seen Masquerade in Evita. You haven't. What's up with that?
Months upon months ago I bought, in an uncharacteristic burst of optimism, two tickets to An Evening with Kevin Smith. It was supposed to be in November, but got pushed back to February 5th. I was irritated. I had something relatively close to a date, we were both excited... then nothing.
Cuba sounds like fun. When does your vacation start?
I might end up seeing Syriana tonight, but I also might bail out on my friends because I don't think I'm up for a serious movie tonight.
Too bad about the Kevin Smith thing. The universe must be conspiring against you.
Thanks to char1es, I bring you the latest "Tag-you're-it" journal fad.
1. Seven things to do before I die
1) Have my plays published
2) Win another writing award
3) Perform in the Dublin Fringe festival
4) Make a movie
5) Finally finish moving on from my divorce by actually dating someone
6) Fix my gorram life
7) Lose the frickin' weight already
The SG Canada West party was much fun. Saw some people I've not seen since Canada Day, plus met some new fun members. One of them had even seen Heracles, which is always neat. I have photos, but haven't figured out how to resize them yet. When I manage that, I'll post them, and we can all rejoice in JDRook's... Read More
For the record, I don't intend to let another year pass without seeing one of your plays. I'm kinda appalled with myself for not making it to one of them yet.
Trying to summon up some enthusiasm for the year ahead. Come Sunday, it'll be a new year, full of possibilities... but so was this year, and look how that turned out.
Well, here's some things I can be looking forward to... let's see if that does the trick.
Cuba trip's coming up soon. Always nice to see a new country, and even nicer to hit... Read More
Play has wrapped. Doing show in December wasn't quite as bad as last time, but still something I'd like to avoid if at all possible.
Cast party highlights: Karaoke Revolution was brought, including the exact edition featured at PAX this summer. It took a while for me to actually win a karaoke sing-off, but still fun... battled on Uptown Girl, Don't You Forget About Me,... Read More
1. [What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?] Erm... had to actually try to not have sex... that was new. Normally that comes very easily. Attended a video game convention.
2. [Did you make any resolutions for this year and will you make any for next year?] I made... Read More
