Newborn's body found on bus in Greyhound yard

A newborn infant was found dead on a Greyhound bus that arrived in San Francisco from Salt Lake City on Sunday afternoon, police and Greyhound authorities said.
The boy's body was found shortly after 2 p.m. in the bus' restroom at the Greyhound maintenance yard in the 1100 block of Seventh Street, said San Francisco police Officer Maria Oropeza.
It has not been confirmed that the baby was born on the bus or whether a woman taken from the scene by police is the mother, she said.
The bus left Salt Lake City at 10:45 p.m. Saturday and arrived in San Francisco about 1 p.m. after stopping at about 10 other locations along the way, said Greyhound spokeswoman Kim Plaskett.
"The investigation is still ongoing," she said. "We are certainly cooperating with the police on their investigation and we are conducting our own internal investigation."
