Today is the beginning of a new, healthier lifestyle for me. My goal is to be at 150-ish before the Columbus Half Marathon in October. I downloaded the app called Lose It a long time ago but never really utilized it until now. What's cool is I can just scan the barcode of what I'm about to eat/drink and all the calorie info pops right up. I guess I am not allowed to go over 1800 calories a day, which seems easy but I am sure it will end up being a little difficult at first. I might have to splurge a bit on weekends, especially with Dude-A-Thon coming up on Sunday, but if I am good during the week I think I will be okay. Years ago I lost 60 lbs in no time without trying (still don't know how it happened). I am hoping to repeat that but this time I will actually be physically active. With my family history I might be reaching the halfway point of my life in a few months. I think if I start being a bit more healthy now and keep it going it may pay dividends in the future. I want to grow old and happy with family and friends, not be dead by 65 like my parents and grandparents. 2012 will be the year that either makes or breaks me, and I will NOT let it break me!
